AutoTraderz is the data controller for personal data collected through this Platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act 2018, and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Data We Collect
Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, password (encrypted). Listing Data: Vehicle details, images, descriptions, location. Verification Documents: Government-issued ID, proof of address, business licences (stored securely, deleted after verification). Payment Information: Processed securely by Stripe; we do not store card details. Usage Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, interaction data. Communications: Messages between users, enquiries, support requests.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: provide and improve our services; process transactions and subscriptions; verify user identity; communicate with you about your account; send relevant notifications; detect and prevent fraud; comply with legal obligations; and analyse usage patterns to improve the Platform.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data based on: Contract performance (account services, transactions); Legitimate interests (fraud prevention, analytics, security); Consent (marketing communications, cookies); Legal obligation (tax records, law enforcement requests).
5. Data Sharing
We share data with: Stripe (payment processing); Other users (your public listing information and name on enquiries/messages); Service providers (hosting, analytics); Law enforcement (when legally required). We never sell your personal data to third parties.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies help us understand usage patterns. You may use Facebook Pixel for remarketing if you consent. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
7. Data Retention
Account data: retained while your account is active and for 2 years after deletion. Verification documents: deleted within 30 days of verification decision. Transaction records: retained for 7 years for tax compliance. Messages: retained for 1 year after account deletion.

9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures: passwords are encrypted with bcrypt; all data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS; JWT tokens with expiry for authentication; rate limiting and DDoS protection; regular security audits; access controls and principle of least privilege. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in the EU/EEA and UK. Any transfers outside these regions comply with GDPR adequacy requirements or Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Children's Privacy
Our Platform is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete it immediately.
